چکیده

In this paper we study the Matovich-Pearson equations describing the process of glass fiber drawing. These equations may be viewed as a 1D-reduction of the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations including free boundary, valid for the drawing of a long and thin glass fiber. We concentrate on the isothermal case without surface tension. Transient Natural Convection Flow on an Isothermal Vertical Wall at High Prandtl Numbers: Second-Order Approximation

The method of matched asymptotic expansions, which has been used in previous studies of steady natural convection flow, is extended here to transient natural convection flow at high Prandtl number (Pr). Second-order expansion solutions, valid for large Prandtl numbers, are presented for the transient natural convection flow near a vertical surface which undergoes a step change in temperature. T...

We prove the existence of global entropy solutions in L∞ to the multidimensional Euler equations and Euler-Poisson equations for compressible isothermal fluids with spherically symmetric initial data that allows vacuum and ...

The strong relaxation limit of the multidimensional isothermal Euler equations

We construct global smooth solutions to the multidimensional isothermal Euler equations with a strong relaxation. When the relaxation time tends to zero, we show that the density converges towards the solution to the heat equation. AMS subject classification: 76N15, 35L65, 35L45.

A Local Strong form Meshless Method for Solving 2D time-Dependent Schrödinger Equations

This paper deals with the numerical solutions of the 2D time dependent Schr¨odinger equations by using a local strong form meshless method. The time variable is discretized by a finite difference scheme. Then, in the resultant elliptic type PDEs, special variable is discretized with a local radial basis function (RBF) methods for which the PDE operator is also imposed in the local matrices. Des...
